Disaster!!!

On my way to London I got held at the UK customs. Apparently I dont have sufficent proof of being able to support myself while in the UK! It takes them hours to decide this and most of this time I had to wait in a locked room being watched over by these gards who spent the whole time watching the soccer.

After being kept in UK customs I get picked up by the French police and then asically got walked to the edge of the fenced off customs area and get told in very bad english that Im now able to go! Of cours its late at night and there are no buses or anything - its a big industrial area. So i book myself into a hotel which is way over my budget but Im not keen on the idea of sleeping on the street!

The hotel is all self service, no staff and it took ne ages to get into the room. Luckily some nice builders helped me in because I was having so much trouble!

Anyway, i have booked qnother bus to london for tomorrow and printed bqnk stqtements etc.

  2. Sounds terrible. Hope you had food and water with you. Well hopefully the free accommodation you have lined up in the UK will make up for the unexpected expensive overnight stay... A slight disaster always makes for a good story when you get home. Well done, you haven't given up, and didn't get arrested for abusing a customs official, so you must be doing well.

  3. They were pretty good at feeding me, a silver lining! Ha. I've had to spend another night here but have booked a bus for tomorrow during the day. So hopefully this time tomorrow I'll be in the UK!

Haha I was tempted to make a run for it/ call the guy certain expletives. I tried to be nice and reasonable but I did make a few comments to the guy, I don't think he was impressed but I was probably pretty tame compared to some.

It was horrible though they gave you no indication of what was happening, how long the process would take etc. I basically waited in this room and then occasionally someone would come in and escort me to have finger prints taken, have full body pat down, and be interviewed. I was basically treated like a criminal for barely any reason. It gives me a while new appreciation for refugees. They are probably in a similar/ worse situation but for years on end!

Im hating France as well. All that shit about the French being snobby about their language has on te most part turned out to be true for me. Excluding a few people they have been really unhelpful and rude! Anyway I should be gone tomorrow!
